Reachability
Outbound calls to India can only be made from international (non-Indian) numbers. Domestic Indian numbers cannot be used to place outbound calls.

DTMF support
DTMF uses RFC 2833 format and is available for outbound calls. Support is not guaranteed on all routes. DTMF for inbound calls is not applicable given inbound domestic call restrictions.
Emergency services
Calls to emergency services numbers in India are not supported. Do not rely on this service for emergency communications.
Special requirements
Outbound calls to India require use of an international (non-Indian) number as the originating caller. Domestic Indian numbers cannot originate outbound calls through carrier networks.
Best practices
- Obtain explicit consent from call recipients before initiating commercial communications. Regulatory authorities in India actively monitor for Unsolicited Commercial Communications (UCC) and can enforce account-level blocks for non-compliant usage.
- Have your use case reviewed for legal and regulatory compliance before launching outbound calling campaigns in India.
