Setting a User's Transcription Language
Configuration Steps
1. Navigate to the user profile settings in Admin Console
2. Select the language in the Transcription Language field, then choose a language to set as the Transcription Language from the dropdown.
3. Click Save at the top of the page to apply the edit.
Once the Transcription Language has been set, users can trigger Notifications by speaking Phrases that match the language configured via the "Transcription Language" setting. All conversations will be transcribed in that selected language.
- ⚠️ Important: Revenue does not support multiple languages per individual user. Thus, users can only trigger notifications and transcribe conversations that match their selected Transcription Language. (e.g. a User with "English (US)" selected will only be able to trigger Notifications with English Phrases saved to them.)
Configuring Phrases To Match Transcription Language
Once a Transcription Language is set for an individual user, then only Moments™ Notifications with Phrases in that same language will be available to be triggered by the user. Any Moments™ Notification which includes Phrases from a different language will not trigger for this user (even if they’re targeted to them).
Proper Configuration Example ✅
The below example shows the expected behavior based on proper configuration.
User with Transcription Language setting set to Korean:
A Notification is targeted to this User. The Notification includes “Phrases” saved in the Korean language:
The User can trigger this Notification on calls by speaking the Korean Phrase(s):
For detailed steps on how to test the triggering of notifications in another language, see this article.
Improper Configuration Example ⛔️
The user below has a Transcription Language set to “Korean”. A Moments™ Notification is targeted to this user, but the Phrases are saved in a language that is not Korean: Spanish. As a result, the User will NOT be able to trigger this Notification.
User with Transcription Language setting set to Korean:
Example of a Notification targeted to this user, but with Phrases saved in Spanish:
Because the user has their Transcription Language set to Korean, only Notifications that include Korean Phrases can be triggered by this user. Thus, the user cannot trigger a Notification with Spanish phrases.
