Email threading allows subsequent Sequence emails to be displayed in modern email clients as part of the same conversational thread. If two email actions share the same subject, they will be sent using the same Message ID.
Disable Email Threading
This feature is enabled by default, but can be disabled within Sequence Settings | Email | Disable Email Reply to Previous Email Thread
Example Behavior
Example 1.
In this example, both emails are expected to be threaded because they share the same subject line and subsequently follow each-other.
- Action 1: Call
- Action 2: SMS
- Action 3: Email (Subject: "Hello from Revenue.io!")
- Action 4: Call
- Action 5: SMS
- Action 6: Email (Subject: "Hello from Revenue.io!")
Example 2.
In this example, both emails are NOT expected to be threaded because they do not share the same subject line. While adding "Re:" is a creative way to make following email actions look like they have been replied to, these emails will not group together because of the different subject.
- Action 1: Call
- Action 2: SMS
- Action 3: Email (Subject: "Hello from Revenue.io!")
- Action 4: Call
- Action 5: SMS
- Action 6: Email (Subject: "Re: Hello from Revenue.io!")
Example 3.
In this example, both emails are NOT expected to be threaded because another email action has been inserted with a different subject.
- Action 1: Call
- Action 2: SMS
- Action 3: Email (Subject: "Hello from Revenue.io!")
- Action 4: Call
- Action 5: SMS
- Action 6: Email (Subject: "Is now a good time?")
- Action 7: Call
- Action 8: SMS
- Action 9: Email (Subject: "Hello from Revenue.io!")
