Troubleshooting Notifications on Desktop

When a call is received in RingDNA, you should see a notification and hear a chime to inform you of the inbound call.

Call Notification

At times, there are settings within Chrome or in your system's settings which may prevent these notifications from being visible. This article details those common scenarios, and steps you can take to troubleshoot each.

RingDNA Desktop Notifications and Sounds

Ensure that your Desktop Notifications and Sounds setting is enabled.

  • Navigate to the RingDNA App
  • Click on the Settings gear (bottom left)
  • From the General tab, look for Desktop Notifications and Sounds

Note: If the "Mute Audition Notification when Busy" setting is enabled, and you are in a busy status, you will not receive any inbound call notifications. This includes Queue calls.

Chrome Notification Settings

If the RingDNA Setting to enable notifications above is greyed out, than you may have accidentally blocked notifications in Chrome, preventing our app from rendering the notifications.

  • Paste chrome://settings/content/notifications into Chrome's search bar
  • Find the option for https://softphone.revenue.io:433 and click the arrow
  • Set the option for Notifications to Allow

Windows Settings

In Windows, there is a feature which disables all notifications on your system. It's called Focus Assist on Windows 10 and Do Not Disturb on Windows 11.

Additionally, MacOS may hide desktop notifications when you are mirroring your screen over HDMI or sharing your desktop over video conference software.
