We're excited to announce an upgrade to our email and calendar integration system. This update brings several benefits to enhance your experience with our platform.
What’s Changing?
This upgraded integration system is available now to all customers. Users setting up email/calendar connections will automatically be directed to the improved connector system.
We plan to deprecate the older integration services on November 30th, 2024. This gives you plenty of time to prepare for the upgrade and ensure there is no disruption for your connected users.
In the following sections, we’ll dive deeper into the specific enhancements and how you can prepare your team for these improvements.
How Does This Benefit You?
For Office365 users, the main advantage is a direct integration with Microsoft's Graph API, which offers more granular permission scopes and enhances response speed and reliability.
Google and Office365 users will also benefit from:
-
Increased Reliability: This new version has been completely rebuilt from the ground up to take advantage of modern API frameworks and incorporates all of the lessons learned from previous iterations. The result is a more scalable, performant, and reliable system.
-
Improved Security: Direct synchronization with email and calendar services ensures instant access to your data without the need to sync and retain data.
-
Ultra-Fast Responses: API response times are on average 2.5x times faster, ensuring a more seamless user experience.
-
Bounce Detection: Advanced technology more accurately detects hard email bounces and improves email deliverability.
How Can You Prepare tor These Changes?
-
All connected users will need to remove and then reconnect their email accounts in order to be enabled for this new version.
-
It’s not possible to migrate users from the old version to the new version automatically. Each user must re-authenticate and grant permission to our application via the upgraded integration.
-
Prepare Your Team for a Smooth Integration Upgrade:
- Test the new integration early by having a user disconnect and then reconnect their email. This helps to ensure your Google/Office365 Account is not blocking the new integration.
-
Communicate and have your users complete the upgrade early. It takes just a few minutes to reconnect and it can be done at their leisure before the older integration services are deprecated.
- You can share the following article and instructions with your team: Onboarding Guide for Users.
- Monitor for users that have not completed the upgrade using the Email/Calendar Integration settings page.
- Click the
Linked At
column header to sort the list by descending order to quickly see which users have connected the integration recently, and which users are still outstanding. - While you are able to force-disconnect a user's integration from this page, a gentle nudge over email may be more effective and less disruptive.
- Click the
How Do You Check if the New Integration Is Working?
When setting up the new integration, users will see the following permission screens:

Once a user successfully integrates, you will see their Linked At
status update, and their Sync State
should be "RUNNING".
What Happens if a User Doesn't Reconnect?
If users haven't reconnected by November 30th, 2024, they will be automatically disconnected and must reconnect to continue using the following features:
- Guided Selling users: Any automatic email actions scheduled to trigger while the account is disconnected will be converted to a manual action. These actions can then be sent from the Engage tab after the user connects their email.
- Conversation AI users: Generative AI email drafts will not be added to a user’s draft folder while their email is disconnected.
- Calendar Users: Meeting links and Scheduler pages will be unavailable while the user’s email/calendar is disconnected.
We're committed to making this transition as seamless as possible for all our customers. If you have any questions or concerns about these changes, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team.
