Once you have configured the ringDNA application and added it to your mobile device, you can now receive inbound SMS and call notifications directly to your device when a new SMS is sent or a call is placed to your smart number.
For a user to receive notifications they must have enabled notifications via the configuration of the application. This includes a user:
- Enabling the "Mobile Push Notification Settings" for their account
- Enabling notifications on their device for the ringDNA application.
Inbound SMS Notifications
When a user is sent an inbound SMS to their smart number and has mobile push notifications enabled on their device they will receive a new SMS notification.
If the notification is from a known contact then the notification will present the contact's name and the message in the notification title. (Eg. "Sam Seller: Great meeting this afternoon")
If the notification is sent from an unknown individual given that a contact record for that individual is not on their device the notification will present the phone number of the individual (Eg. "+3105555555: Great meeting this afternoon")
Inbound Call Notifications
When a user is sent an inbound SMS to their smart number and has mobile push notifications enabled on their device they will receive a new SMS notification.
If the notification is from a known contact then the notification will present the contact's name and the message in the notification title. (Eg. "Sam Seller: Great meeting this afternoon")
If the notification is sent from an unknown individual given that a contact record for that individual is not on their device the notification will present the phone number of the individual (Eg. "+3105555555: Great meeting this afternoon")
Engaging with Notifications
If using an Android device, users can select a call or SMS notification to directly open the ringDNA application. Note that this is not supported on iOS and users will need to manually open the application to view the new SMS message or see information about the inbound caller.
