Email & Send Limits
The Email settings page allows you to configure email-related behavior and limits for Guided Selling. These settings can be configured under the Settings > Email section of the Guided Selling application.
Email Configuration Options
The Email settings include options for:
- Email Threading: Enables emails to be sent as a reply to previous emails sent for the same sequence
- Per User Daily Email Limit: Set the maximum number of emails each user can send through Sequences per day. Use this setting to keep Guided Selling email volume within the daily limits established by your email provider. Emails above the configured limit are scheduled for the next day.
- Sequence Removal: Configures what happens when a sequence email is replied to, receives an automatic response, or is undeliverable
Email Threading
Enable to have subsequent emails in the same sequence appear as a reply to a previous email. Configuring the email actions with the same subject is required for any email that you would like to appear as a reply. Results may vary, depending on the recipient’s email client settings.
Email threading behavior
Whether emails thread depends on subject lines and order. Use the same subject for each email you want in the same thread; do not manually add “Re:” to create threading.
- Example 1 (threaded): Two email actions use the same subject (“Hello from Revenue.io!”) with Call or SMS actions between them. The emails will thread because they share the same subject and form an unbroken chain.
- Example 2 (not threaded): One email has subject “Hello from Revenue.io!” and a later email has “Re: Hello from Revenue.io!”. They will not thread — subjects must match exactly; adding “Re:” does not produce threading.
- Example 3 (not threaded): Two emails use the same subject (“Hello from Revenue.io!”) but a different-subject email is inserted between them (e.g., “Is now a good time?”). They will not thread because the chain is broken.
Send Limits
Guided Selling uses third-party integration to send all emails from each user’s connected native email account. Emails sent in quick succession or in a bulk send may be throttled by the app to avoid errors from your email provider, but emails will fail if aggregate limits are exceeded. Please check with your company’s email provider regarding:
- Daily email send limits per user
- Daily email send limits per organization
- Single email send limits
- Mass email limits
Guided Selling daily email limit
The Limit for number of emails sent per user per day setting controls how many Sequence emails each user can initiate in a day.
Use this setting to keep each user’s Guided Selling email volume within the daily limit established by your connected email provider. Any remaining emails that exceed the configured Guided Selling limit are scheduled for the next day.
Guided Selling counts email Participant Actions with either Initiated or Completed status toward the user’s daily quota. An email does not need to reach its final Completed state before it consumes quota. This prevents emails that have already entered the sending process from being excluded from the daily count.
When the daily limit is reached
When sending an email would exceed the user’s configured daily limit, Guided Selling does not send that email immediately. The affected action is deferred to the next day.
For a manual email send, the user receives an error notification indicating that the Native Email Daily Limit has been exceeded.
When a bulk manual send includes more emails than the user’s remaining daily quota, Guided Selling processes the eligible emails and reports that the remaining emails exceeded the native email limit.
Email Reply Behavior
Participants can be automatically removed from sequences based on their email interaction. This includes:
- When a participant replies to an email action
- When their email address replies with an automatic response
- When their email address becomes undeliverable
