Email Limits and Throttling
To help protect email deliverability, Guided Selling Admins can set a daily email limit for each user.
Note: To avoid Email Service Provider (ESP) throttling, Guided Selling will always limit emails sent to 20 per minute.
Configure Daily Limit
You may set the maximum number of Sequence emails each user can initiate per day. Any additional emails that exceed the configured limit are rescheduled for the next day.
Guided Selling counts email Participant Actions with either Initiated or Completed status toward the user’s daily quota. An email therefore counts against the quota once it has entered the sending process, even if it has not yet reached its final Completed state.
- Go to Sequence Settings in Salesforce.
- Access the Email section.
- Under Limit for number of emails sent per user per day, choose your preferred limit.
You may need to check with your ESP for the limits that apply to your organization and users. Set the Guided Selling limit low enough to leave capacity for normal email activity outside of Guided Selling.
When the Daily Limit Is Reached
When an email would exceed the user’s configured daily limit, Guided Selling does not send it immediately. The affected email is rescheduled for the next day.
For a manual email send, the user also receives an error notification indicating that the Native Email Daily Limit has been exceeded.
When a bulk manual send includes more emails than the user’s remaining daily quota, Guided Selling processes the eligible emails and reports that the remaining emails exceeded the native email limit.
